Metallic Braid Tutorial with TRESemmé

A highlight of this summer was definitely Miami Swim Week with TRESemmé.

I received a lot of requests from you on social media asking about my hair styles from that week! So, as promised here is a quick and easy tutorial from one of my favorite looks!

My good friend and TRESemmé stylist, Marco Peña did this really cool and original braid for me one day. You’ll just need a hair-tie and some metallic wire which you can easily get at Michael’s. I also used some hair products to help get this look which are all included below.

First, I sprayed some of TRESemmé’s Botanique Nourish & Replenish hydrating mist to protect my hair, keep it hydrated and soft and prep it for styling.

Just part your hair right down the middle and tie in a ponytail.

Wrap the wire around your hair just a little bit above your hair-tie until it’s completely wrapped and tight enough.

Once you feel the wire is secure, you can pull off your hair-tie.

Then, I used some TRESemmé Sea Salt Spray on my ponytail to give my hair some natural beachy texture. Seriously, this is one of my favorite products ever! The spray also will help create that matte look with the metallic wire.

After you spray, simply braid your ponytail and tie with a hair-tie at the end.

Wrap another piece of the metallic wire above your hair-tie and once the wire is secure you can slip off your hair-tie.

Then for some finishing touches, I sprayed a bit of hairspray. I used the Ultra-Brushable Hold so my hair would stay together but wouldn’t make the braid look too stiff.

Finally, take a long piece of your metallic wire and start from the bottom and simply intertwine into your braid.

And there you have it! An extremely easy and creative way to upgrade your braid! I love learning these little tips and tricks when I’m with the TRESemmé team!
