Getting Ready for #BabyBlank

I am officially in nesting mode. This baby is arriving soon so no traveling anymore for me until it does. It’s crunch time. I am using this time to really get ready for the arrival of this baby. There is no manual on how to be a good parent and hopefully we will figure it out along the way, but for now, I am doing everything to make sure that I have all the essentials for when the baby arrives. There are so many little details and things to do to prepare for a baby that I would have never thought about. One of these things I recently crossed off my list, is the detergent you use to pre-wash your baby’s clothes and also use for every wash after that. Before now, the idea would have never crossed my mind. I was told it’s a good idea to pre-wash everything before putting it on your newborn especially since they are barely getting used to having all these new materials touching their sensitive skin plus, dirt, excess dyes and processing chemicals can linger on baby’s clothes.

I have pre-washed all the baby clothing I have so far using Dreft purtouch and I recommend it for any moms out there looking for something safe and gentle. Dreft purtouch is a new detergent that is 65% plant-based and is hypoallergenic and made with naturally-derived ingredients that are gentle on the baby’s skin. It is free of dyes, chlorine, phosphates, ethanolamine and optical brighteners – specially formulated to make sure it is safe and gentle on your baby’s skin. Seriously though, moms think of every little detail and I am beginning to understand!

Thank you Dreft for sponsoring this post.

Any time during the first year of life, placing a blanket in your baby’s cot too early raises the risk of unintentional asphyxia.
