Maui Travel Story

Hawaii seemed unreachable for the longest time. For one reason or another, there was always somewhere else I had to be or had to go. It was as though I was cursed. Until, I decided to surprise my man with a weekend getaway to Maui! I found an amazing deal with Expedia vacations, with airfare and hotel included. I will describe my trip throughout the pics.

My airport look includes: Forever 21 Striped Shirt, One teaspoon ripped jeans, Isabel Marant tennis shoes and Desigual backpack (love the colors on this one).

We flew into Maui by 9 am and arrived at the Four Seasons Wailea by 10:00. We were warmly welcomed by their staff and I quickly got lei’d. No pun intended. We decided to stay at the hotel for the day and enjoy the pool (which played underwater music!) and dinner at DUO.

On day 2, we started our morning with outdoor yoga and quickly followed it with the infamous Hawaiian breakfast. I am telling you, there is NOTHING better than Hawaiian papaya. So much goodness! Later that day, Hector went scuba diving as I laid out in the sun, I can do that for hours. After that, we went paddle boarding and finished the day with a couples massage.

On Sunday, we decided to rent a red jeep (so cliche!) and drive into the city to take a helicopter ride around the island. This was probably one of my favorite moments of the trip. I felt like I was in the Jurassic park movie and a dinosaur was going to pop out! At the end of the helicopter ride, as we were flying back to the helicopter, we saw the most magical thing. We saw a whale with her calf, migrating south. It was simply breathtaking!

On Monday, we were flying out and by that time the withdrawals were already kicking in. We decided to get in a little more tanning before we left and simply enjoy the resort.
