Montreal Travel Story

Blank Itinerary x W Montreal Hotel - 25

O Canada! My friends and I took a trip to Vancouver about two years ago for our collective November birthdays (yup, my b-day is coming up!), we planned it last minute, and to this date, it’s still one of my all-time favorite memories. So you can imagine my excitement when the W hotels invited me to their beautiful property in Montreal!

I had just arrived from NYFW and Guadalajara when I found myself packing for an express, three-day trip! Coincidently, it was the first day of fall and I was very happy to be celebrating it in a city where it actually felt like the season it said on the calendar! When I arrived at the airport, there was a driver waiting for us who took us directly to the hotel. Our hotel room had the most beautiful wallpaper, which ended up being a beautiful “welcoming” view as we walked through the door.  Because we flew in late, we ended up having a quick dinner at JATOBA and then we called it a night.

The next day, my itinerary was far from blank. We started by visiting Montreal’s most known designers and their showrooms, and eating at the famous coffee shop called Tommy.

Montreal has a strong French and Canadian duality, therefore when they remodeled the suites, they emphasized that by giving each suite North Americanized French décor. They were wildly successful in creating their dual masterpiece if I say so myself! Still obsessed with that wallpaper!

After our midday stroll, we went back to the hotel to rest for a bit before the big party!

The W Montreal was hosting a Duality Takeover party, which was such a unique concept! As the doors opened on the 10th floor, 2 models were dressed doing each others nails in W bathrobes.  A cool yet curious first impression.  Every suite on the 10th floor was taken over by a theme – and guests were welcomed to enter each suite of this explorative party. Themes ranged from Winter, summer, modern and classic.

My favorite was the summer theme, where three models were sitting on the new gold couches, surrounded by flamingos. There was even flamingos on the balcony! It was so much fun taking photos with the models and seeing the room transformations.
