If you haven’t already heard I’m going to brag about it again. I recently received the news that I am one of three finalists for Breakthrough Blogger of the year award at the Bloglovin X HM awards. These awards take place during New York fashion week in September and a real big deal for us bloggers. I wouldn’t be where I am if it weren’t for all of you so I just want to take the time, first of all, to thank you for all your support.
The best part of all of this, is that I was flown to New York to be mentored by one of my favorite bloggers: Arielle from Somethingnavy.com All the details of our meeting are down below so you have to keep reading. I was in Vegas the weekend before going to New York and left straight to New York from Vegas. I was extremely tired to say the least. From one city that never sleeps to the other, my life has been nonstop. Just so you get a little idea of what it was like, below is an itinerary of my most recent New York experience.
Sunday, July 12th, 2015
10:00 pm: Arrived in NYC
12:00 am: Checked in at the hotel. Yeah. There was a lot of traffic in the city.
1:00 am: My man and I were exhausted but starving, so we found our way to the typical New York City diner where we ended up eating an egg breakfast sandwich. It had avocado, mmHmm so good.

[*sidenote I had been asked to wear H&M at the mentorship event, but due to my traveling and amazing skill of procrastination, I ended up shopping for my outfit two hours before the event. Yeah, story of my life.]
9:00 am: Visited the H&M store located on Broadway & Avenida de las Americas.
11:00 am: I arrived at the H&M showroom, where Arielle, the girls from H&M and Bloglovin were there to greet me. We took an amazing tour and got to see the new H&M fall collection. (The collection goes live on August 3, so make sure to check the blog on that day, so special surprises.)
12:00 pm: Played dress up, tried on the new H&M collection and Arielle and I helped each other pick out our outfits for the Bloglovin awards in September. (Canāt wait to show you our outfits!!)
1:00 pm: After choosing our outfits, we left the H&M Showroom debating on where to have lunch. Arielle knew exactly what she was in the mood for (grilled cheese & sweet potatoes fries) & I was indecisive, as always. Againā¦ the story of my life. We walked a couple of blocks and she ended up choosing Maison Kayser, a restaurant that I had been to before and actually one of my favorites! You are talking about New York City here, where the city is huge and there are countless restaurants. What are the odds!
As you can see, my itinerary was far from blank, but I had so much fun and it was an amazing experience getting to meet Arielle. Since the moment I walked into the H&M showroom and she greeted me with a genuine smile, I knew she was as cool as she seemed on Instagram. Later, at lunch, we got to know each other a bit more. We exchanged tips and learned that we have a couple of things in common. We are both married (in October, one year of a difference) and have very supportive husbands (mine, of course, was my +1 on this trip) and we have both had food poisoning because of chicken and will never eat chicken again! Ha! Letās just say we know how to blog better than we know how to cook! After our lunch ended, we gave each other a big hug, make future plans and carried on with our errands in the city.
