Today is Cinco de Mayo, and for most college students it’s just another reason to have a margarita or two, but I decided to wear this shirt that I bought in Oaxaca to give the day a little extra meaning. This shirt’s delicately embroidered design caught my attention as I strolled through the Oaxaca markets and was shocked to learn that not only was it handmade but that it only cost 300 pesos, which is equivalent to about 22 dollars. Mexico has so much to offer and I am so proud to be Mexican, but most of all, I feel blessed to be able to enjoy everything it has to offer. Amazing food, beautiful colonial architecture, untouched natural reserves, rich cultural traditions and breathtaking beaches are just some of those things. Have you ever been to Mexico? If not, where would you like to visit?
