Yes, neon.
Neon was one of the biggest trends on the runways and the world’s best designers have spoken: neon will be a thing this season. Celebrities like Kim K, Blake Lively, and many others have already been seen at events and red carpets standing out in neon colors. Brands like Louis Vuitton and Prada really embraced the electric yellow color with some bold pieces that made big statements. This is my subtle way to incorporate this trend in a fall look that is my own. This Robert Rodriguez skirt from Shopbop may not be full on electric yellow, but it plays on that yellow trend in a more subtle way and has a traditional autumn feel with the plaid design. Either way, it’s a piece that definitely stands out. I styled it with some black boots and a studded black leather jacket to make sure the yellow skirt was the focus and I love the contrast between the feminine skirt and the edgy leather jacket. It’s always fun to mix styles up like that. As a final bold touch, a neon pink bag to make this outfit a bit more interesting, though you could always go for a less outlandish bag and stick to a more monochrome palette.
