It’s crazy to think that the makeup world is obsessed with makeup that looks like we aren’t wearing any. And although I love a bold makeup moment, the natural, dewy, off-duty model kind of look is my favorite for everyday. The ‘no-makeup makeup’ look is an easy way to enhance your natural beauty and to look more rested and put together. With just a few steps and just a few products, you can achieve the perfect natural makeup look.
Now get your camera ready for that selfie!

When you think of any makeup look, the first thing that comes to mind is of course, the makeup. But when it comes to achieving an effortless looking ‘no-makeup makeup’ look, it all starts with the skin. It’s super important to start with clean skin and tons of hydration. After cleansing my skin (I love the Dermalogica Special Cleansing Gel), my go-to is the SkinCeuticals Hydrating B5 Gel. It’s a Hyaluronic Acid with vitamin B5, which restores moisture and brightens the skin. After allowing the gel to sink into my skin, I follow up with the Origins Original Skin Pore-Perfecting Cooling Primer. It has a cooling effect and does wonders in minimizing the appearance of pores and giving my skin a hydrated base. Now time for makeup! To keep my skin looking natural, I like to use a tinted moisturizer instead of a heavy foundation. I like the Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer because it’s lightweight and has just a hint of color to cover any uneveness in my skintone!
Since the ‘no-makeup makeup look’ is all about looking natural, I like to be conservative with my concealer. I still use a fuller coverage concealer because my eyes typically show the most signs of tiredness. My absolute favorite concealer for looking more rested is the Tarte Shape Tape (my shade is light medium honey). For a more natural look, I would definitely choose a shade that matches your skin tone or one shade lighter. For any imperfections, I like to spot conceal any with the same concealer applying it with a small brush and blending it with a clean finger.
ADD SUBTLE DEFINITION
For those of us who aren’t genetically blessed with Bella Hadid cheekbones, well, there’s contour for that! To add subtle definition and give the illusion of sculpted cheekbones, I use an angled bronzer brush to apply a bronzed powder. Right now I’m loving the Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze & Glow Contour Duo. It’s sooo good for creating natural definition along the jawline and slimming the the nose too!
FAKE THE GLOW
I’m obsessed with that dewy, just left the beach glow. I swear by adding a bit of highlighter to brighten and waken the face. For my highlight, I used the DIOR Backstage Glow Face Palette. I love that this travel-friendly compact palette comes with four shades so you can mix and match shades to customize your glow. I used the golden shade to highlight above my cheekbones, the rosy shade on the apples of my cheeks, and the lighter champagne shade to add an inner corner eye highlight.
FINISH THE LOOK
And lastly, all the finishing touches. I like to top off my look with a hydrating face mist because it feels amazing and adds that dewiness I love. I’ll also add a bit of lengthening mascara to open up the eyes and a hydrating tinted lip balm.
