Milan Fashion Week Recap

Finally!

So, I know my Milan Fashion Week recap is long overdue but, I have been traveling so much that I wasn’t able to until now. Milan Fashion Week is always one of my favorites because I have so many favorite Italian designers. Unfortunately, I had to miss the first two days of Milan Fashion Week because I was in Paris shooting a special campaign with Givenchy.  Nonetheless, my days were packed and I was able to attend enough shows to share all the upcoming trends with all of you.

Quería publicar mi resumen de la Semana de la Moda de Milán hace tiempo, pero he estado viajado tanto que hasta ahorita pude.  La Semana de la Moda de Milán es siempre una de mis favoritas porque muchos de mis diseñadores favoritos son Italianos. Desafortunadamente, no pude llegar a los primeros dos días de MFW porque estaba en Paris trabajando en un proyecto con Givenchy. Sin embargo, los días que estuve en Milan, aproveché cada minuto y pude asistir a suficientes desfiles para poder compartir con ustedes muchas tendencias que vendrán la próxima primavera.

TOD’S

I literally went from the airport to the show! Anything to join my Tod’s family! This was the first time Tod’s combined its men and women’s collection, and let me tell you, the men looked good! Men wore suits from linen to suede in different colors, looking classy and relaxed in them.

Women on the other hand, wore a lot of leather. Who says you can’t wear leather in summer, right? Women wore blush tone pantsuits, wrap skirts, trench coats, trousers and dresses in leather, suede and python. Almost every outfit was paired with the newest bags from this collection; cross-bodies, top handles, totes and bucket bags. I personally loved the top handle and bucket bags the most!

Literalmente fui del aeropuerto al desfile! Apenas llegue. Esta fue la primera vez que Tod’s combinó su colección de hombres y mujeres, y tengo que decir que los hombres se veían bastante bien. Los hombres llevaban trajes de lino a gamuza en diferentes colores y se veían muy elegantes.

Las mujeres en cambio llevaban muchas prendas de piel. ¿Quién dice que no puedes usar piel en verano? Las mujeres llevaban trajes de pantalón, faldas, gabardinas, pantalones y vestidos de piel, gamuza y pitón. Casi todas las prendas se combinaron con las bolsas más nuevas de esta colección.

ETRO

Etro was such a fun show to watch! Every outfit was so vibrant! Etro’s Spring 2019 collection was inspired by the 80’s so it was very bohemian. It was all about beach waves, bathing suits and full length dresses with all kinds of prints and colors. I saw a lot of maxi dresses and skirts with fun prints, which I really loved. I think this collection will be very easy to wear especially since most of the pieces have a lot of movement and look fresh for spring and summer.

Etro fue un desfile tan divertido de ver! ¡Cada atuendo era súper vibrante! La colección de Primavera 2019 de Etro se inspiró en los años 80, y tiene un estilo muy bohemio. Vi muchos trajes de baño y vestidos y faldas largas con todo tipo de estampados y colores. Creo que esta colección será muy fácil de usar, especialmente porque la mayoría de las prendas tienen mucho movimiento y se ven muy frescas para la primavera y el verano.

MSGM

MSGM is known for using a lot of vibrant colors and bold prints, and of course, this collection had a lot of both! I saw many dresses, pants and suits with a bold flower print. There were a lot of jersey dresses and sheer draped dresses in very bright colors. They really embraced the cowboy boot trend and paired nearly every outfit with cowboy boots or transparent boots.

MSGM es conocido por usar muchos colores vibrantes y estampados llamativos, y por supuesto, ¡esta colección tiene de las dos! Vi muchos vestidos, pantalones y trajes con estampados de flores. También muchos vestidos transparentes en colores muy brillantes. Incorporaron la tendencia de las botas vaqueras y combinaron casi todos los atuendos con este estilo de botas o botas transparentes.

SPORTMAX

Sportmax’s collection was a combination of stylized surfwear with womenswear inspired by men’s tailoring. Women looked causal yet stylized in surfwear paired with sequin skirts, neoprene corsets, or an oversized jacket. I saw some really fun prints and fabrics that I loved! I really like how Sportmax gets playful and combines different styles. I mean, you don’t see someone in a bathing suit with a sequin skirt and a blazer everyday and yet, it looked so good!

La colección de Sportmax fue una combinación de ropa de surf con un toque masculino. Las mujeres lucían causales pero chic con ropa de surf combinada con faldas de lentejuelas, corsés de neopreno o chamarras “oversized.”  ¡Vi muchos estampados y telas divertidas que me encantaron! Me gusta mucho el estilo divertido de Sportmax y la manera en la que combina diferentes estilos.

SALVATORE FERRAGAMO

Satin and layering dominated Ferragamo’s ready-to-wear collection. Satin coats, dresses, pantsuits and skirts looked amazing styled with wood platforms, wedges, and knee-length boots. What I loved most about this collection is how they paired knee-length boots with sophisticated pieces, such as long skirts and dresses. I’ve tried this trend and absolutely love and recommend!

El satén y usar varias capas de ropa dominaron la colección de Ferragamo. Abrigos de satén, vestidos, trajes y faldas lucían espectacular con zapatos de plataforma de madera y botas hasta la rodilla. Lo que más me gustó de esta colección es cómo combinaron las botas hasta la rodilla con prendas sofisticadas, como faldas largas y vestidos.

ROBERTO CAVALLI

Prints, prints, prints! Prints and elongated blazers with biker shorts were seen throughout the whole show! Minimalist prints really took over. Prints were seen on tailored blazers, skirts, and even on biker shorts. The clash of prints is also seen a lot throughout this collection. I can’t wait to shop some of my favorite pieces!

Estampados y más estampados! ¡Se vieron muchos estampados y blazers alargados con los “biker shorts” en este desfile! El choque de diferentes estampados se vio mucho en esta colección.

MISSONI

Missoni’s strength is their knitting. They have the most beautiful and delicate knitted pieces. There is a lot of light and gentle layering in this collection. Women wore long sleeve sheer tops with flare pants and long slim dresses in white, delicate pinks and washed out indigo colors.

La fuerza de Missoni está en sus tejidos. Tienen las prendas más bonitas y delicadas. Las mujeres llevaban blusas transparentes de manga larga con pantalones acampanados y vestidos largos y delgados en tonos blancos, rosas delicados y en tonos de índigo.
