One week down, two to go. If you were following me on Instagram, you were probably inundated with all my New York Fashion Week content. I just got back and was able to spend the weekend at home but today I am off to Milan for Milan Fashion Week and then Paris Fashion Week. This is always the busiest time of the year for me and even though it can be very exhausting and hard to be away from Enzo, I am so grateful I get to do what I love! Here is a quick recap of my NYFW looks, shows, and trends I loved on the runway! Stay tuned for more coming from Milan and Paris!
I am still obsessing over this bold look for Tom Ford! I am wearing Tom Ford from head to toe, including make-up! During my fitting with Tom Ford, at first I wasn’t sure if I should do the shoes and the dress together, thinking it might be too much, but in the end, I fell in love with the bold print and how they both looked together. Of course, the show was spectacular. Tom Ford is always one of the most anticipated shows and it did not disappoint. Things that stood out to me: satin trousers, red, purple and pink color combo, and strong shoulders!
Kate Spade’s bags and accessories of course, are usually the main focus on their runway, but so many of their Ready-to-Wear pieces definitely stood out. I loved the bold and vibrant colors and the leopard prints. Again, I also saw a lot of satin and pink and purples and of course tailored elements, which are trending everywhere. You guys loved my romantic look for this show, especially the blouse! Linked it for you below!
I love Self-Portrait! Their pieces have this effortlessly chic feel. I loved the tuxedo-dress and the way they incorporated touches of lace in a lot of their looks for that subtle touch of sexy. They absolutely nailed mixed patterns trend. Somehow they make totally contrasting prints work really well together without it being to jarring. Also, wore the cutest polkadot dress from Self Portrait!
If you aren’t familiar with this designer, she is definitely one to get to know. This collection is so elegant and chic. Satin is definitely becoming a theme on all the runways. There was a lot of beautiful texture best seen in a couple of knit dresses and corduroy pant suits, which were among my favorite pieces.
CINQ A SEPT
Talk about statement pieces! This collection has all the perfect party pieces that are just so effortless. There was a beautiful mix of textures and fabrics with a Moroccan flair. They got layering down to an art with velvet slips and multi-printed skirts layered with a tied-up blouse or long vests. This stunning pantsuit I wore is from the brand as well! I am obsessed with it and so happy the pantsuit trend looks like it is here to stay.
This was my third outfit change of the day! I wore a super cool leather jacket and striped asymmetrical dress from Adeam. Everything from Adeam’s fall collection was just breathtaking! There were some stunning tailored silhouettes and incredible texture in the form of fringed ribbon, lace and pleating. There were some beautiful, bold colors on the runway. My favorites were the yellow corseted jacket and a fierce fuchsia pant suit.
I have been a fan of the brand for a long time and this collection just reaffirmed my love for it. Going along with the trend, there was a lot of silk and satin but I loved how it was styled on top of trousers. There were a lot of amazing outerwear pieces including trenches and beautiful blazers which are two items which I think very much define my own personal style. I also loved the unique way that the blazers were styled with the long asymmetrical slips under them.
You probably saw this all over my Instagram, but this show will be one I will never forget because I walked in it!! It was the first time I ever walked in a runway show! Never in a million years would I have predicted or imagined myself doing this. I was so nervous but it was an incredible experience! Rebecca is so sweet and I always enjoy her shows and now I was actually a part of one! I actually got to choose which look I wanted to wear from the collection. What do you guys think?!
Prints, prints, prints! I loved all the flower prints and the mixed patterns on midi and maxi dresses. Mixed prints is looking like something to definitely add to your fall closet. I fell in love with the wool coats and the hardware details but I have to say, I think a crowd favorite was this gorgeous plaid trench with leather piping and buttons.
Carolina Herrera has been one of my favorite brands since I was young and it is always a show I look forward to. I was definitely eager to see this collection and find out what Gordon Wes, the brand’s new designer, had in store! The collection stands out with its bold and vibrant color palette. Evening dresses had a lot more shape and structure. Overall, for me personally, it was the electric colors that caught my attention. It was a great combination of the classic Herrera style with bold new elements. My outfit for the show was a classic feminine and chic Carolina Herrera suit. I loved the pop of the polkadot blouse!
CHANEL HAUTE COUTURE PRESENTATION
I am just going to let these pieces speak for themselves. I stopped by to see Chanel’s couture presentation and every time I get to see couture pieces up close I am in awe of the work that goes behind each piece. These pieces are seriously so intricate and truly a work of art!
This collection has such a cool story behind it. It was inspired by a lesser-known female spy during WWII who helped free thousands of persecuted people in France. The collection is what Zimmermann imagines her wearing today. Pieces like the berets and leather trench coats brought the spy theme alive. I loved the prints, the texture, the dress silhouettes and the details in each piece and look. Everything was gorgeous and definitely played into that sexy, mystery woman theme. I wore this super flattering and gorgeous dress from the Spring 2019 collection. I loved the details, the sleeves, the fit. Zimmermann never disappoints.
OSCAR DE LA RENTA
I loved the tailored pieces. The tweed, the menswear checks and the warm colors. There were a lot of carpet prints in the eveningwear pieces and amazing texture overall seen with tulle, velvet and tweed. I wore this Oscar de la Renta polkadot evening dress which was the perfect mix of sexy and feminine playfulness.
My last show of NYFW was Michael Kors, and what a way to end it! It was a full on 70’s party! Inspired by the Studio 54 era, the models were covered in feather, fake fur, sequin and the runway was a dancing playground! There was a live singer and everyone ended up dancing! Such a fun show with incredible looks really bringing that fun 70’s vibe back!
’till next time New York!
