Concrete Jungle

Shadows, over exposure, under exposure, white balance, aperture? Any of these words ring a bell? A year ago, I probably would have looked at you with a sigh on my face. You see, I started this blogger journey last year when I simply asked my friend, Henry if he knew of a photographer that could take my pictures. Without a doubt, he responded, ” Well, I’m a photographer, why couldn’t I do it!” In shock, I replied,

“That would be amazing and I hadn’t asked because I thought he was busy!”, since he worked an 8-5 job.  What started as let’s shoot tomorrow and see what happens, turned into weeks and then months and now years. Henry has been supporting me throughout the whole way, and it is something that I will always be grateful for. He has such great talent and together we have learned how to make this “blogging” thing work. He kids around saying that I have outgrown the teacher when I give him angles to shoot or locations. Photography plays a big role in this blogging world, and it would mean the world to win this trip to NYC, to take Henry on his  first journey to New York Fashion week, this upcoming September.  I have been there before, so I know he would enjoy it because of the street style photography paradise. The Haute Pursuit, asked the contestants to play with shadows, and so we did. How about this concrete jungle, ey? Hope you guys like it! Thanks for stopping by, xo, p.

Sounds like an amazing journey, and your growth really shows in your photos. Playing with shadows and light definitely pays off once you get the hang of it. If anyone’s also into the “concrete jungle” side of things, I’ve been working with a concrete company that helps transform outdoor spaces and it’s been a great creative outlet too. Keep up the awesome work and good luck with NYC!

This is such a beautiful and heartfelt story. Your journey with Henry is truly inspiring, and it clearly shows in your work. The photos are stunning, especially how you played with shadows insulation that lowers HVAC costs—absolutely perfect for the theme. Wishing you both the best of luck. You deserve this opportunity!
