Empire state of mind

“In New York. Concrete jungle where dreams are made of. There’s nothin’ you can’t do. Now you’re in New Yoooork!” Well, there IS one thing I definitely can’t do unfortunately, and that is to sing like Alicia Keys. I can relate to the song though. I was recently in the concrete jungle that is New York City working hard and pursuing some dreams of my own.

It was non-stop madness and excitement going from meeting to meeting and of course attending some of New York’s most fabulous fashion previews to keep up to date on upcoming trends to share with you all! Some of my favorite Fall previews were Armani Exchange, Rebecca Minkoff, and Sam Edelman among others. On this particular day, I knew I had an extremely busy schedule full of meetings and appointments so I had to choose a comfortable but fashionable outfit. It was also very hot so I opted for this tux vest instead of a blazer. Though the trip was exhausting, it was definitely very productive and thrilling! It’s no wonder so many artists have written songs about New York! So, thanks, New York… there are exciting things coming! In the words of Alicia Keys, “Let’s hear it for New York, New York, New Yooork!”

La ciudad de Nueva York ha sido fuente de inspiración de todo tipo de artistas y un lugar donde abunda la esperanza para hacer realidad los sueños. Yo me encontré en Nueva York hace unas semanas como una entre miles de artistas que han llegado a esta gran ciudad, buscando una forma de lograr sus sueños. Cada vez que voy a Nueva York, me quedo asombrada al ver tanto movimiento. La gente nunca para y la ciudad nunca duerme. Y así estuve yo también! Fueron unos días de locura. Iba corriendo de cita en cita, junta a junta y claro, de pasarela a pasarela! Me tocó ver unos desfiles increíbles de las nuevas temporadas de otoño. Unas de mis favoritas fueron las de Armani Exchange, Rebecca Minkoff, y Sam Edelman. Este día en particular, sabía que iba a tener un día extremadamente ocupado, con mil juntas y eventos. Escogí este “look” porque era cómodo y suficientemente arreglado para todas las cosas que Tenía que hacer ese día. Hacia muchísimo calor entonces decidí ponerme este chaleco en vez de una chaqueta. Aunque estuvo muy pesado el viaje, fue muy productivo y emocionante! Vienen cosas grandes! No cabe duda que Nueva York es la ciudad de los sueños!
