Craving a little extra sparkle? Me too! Maybe it’s the Euphoria makeup craze, all the amazing looks I’m seeing from celebrity makeup artists on Insta, or maybe it’s the party season, but lately I’ve been loving sparkle. I’m usually the type of person that sticks to more subtle glam, but I wanted to step out of my comfort zone to bring you guys a festive, glittery makeup look just in time for New Year’s Eve!
I’ve been seeing a lot of celebrities wearing colorful glitter eyeshadow lately, so I knew I wanted to experiment with color too. I chose purple because it’s fun and different and I loved how it turned out. I think this look would be perfect for a fun night out, a holiday party or New Year’s Eve if your outfit is more on subtle side! Here are all the details for achieving this look.
GET THE LOOK
Step 1: Apply a concealer or an eyeshadow primer all over your eyelid so the glitter will have something to stick to and so you get better color payoff.
Step 2: Using the Nars Inferno Eyeshadow Palette, use the first shade “Keep on Dancing” to set your concealer/primer.
Step 3: Using the first shade in the second row “Do it Right,” apply it all over the eyelid extending toward the outer corner of the eyebrow for a cat eye effect.
Step 4: Dampen your blending brush with MAC Prep + Prime Fix+ and apply the second to last shade in the palette “Wishing on a Star” all over the lid. Continue to build until it’s as glittery as you want it to be. (pro tip: if you’re having difficulty applying the glitter, use your finger and press the color onto your lid.)
Step 5: Using a pencil brush and the second shade in the palette “Let it Whip,” apply the color below your lower lash line.
Step 6: Using the last color in the second row “Shake Your Body,” highlight your inner corner of your eye.
Step 7: Define your eye look by adding a thin line close to your top lash line using the Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye pencil in “Vice.”
Step 8: Clean up any fallout using a q-tip and some micellar water.
Step 9: Lightly highlight the brow bone with the last color in the second row “Shake Your Body.”
Step 10: Finish off your look with some false lashes or a few coats of your favorite mascara!
