As most of you know by now, I celebrated my birthday in Napa Valley three weeks ago. After going back and forth on ideas of where to go, I now look back and know that we could not have chosen a better place to celebrate the big 2-7. Hector surprised me with all the details and the main one being our resort, Calistoga Ranch. I had only been to Napa on day trips once or twice, so the experience of staying in the valley was beyond amazing. Plus, little did we know, that November was one of the best months to go! Napa colors were surreal!
We arrived on Saturday night to SFO, rented a car and drove to the Valley, arriving around 9 pm. By that time we were tired and hungry, so we decided to order room serve and call it a night. Of course, they greeted us with some Chardonnay.
The next morning…my birthday morning, I woke up to a beautiful scenery. The whole resort was hues of red, yellow, and orange leaves. Simply breathtaking! We headed over to the Lakehouse for some breakfast. I tried the Huevos rancheros, which are soo yummy, and I am Mexican, so you have to believe me. They were much more gourmet than Hector’s recipe, but they are both so good (he reads my blog, so don’t make me decide which one’s are better).
After breakfast, we scheduled our weekend treatments, grabbed the car and went on our way to some wine tasting. We made three stops:
(side note: It’s important that you plan your wine tasting in advance, because some wineries are closed on the weekends and others are appointment only)
First stop: Chateau Montelena
This place is so Instagram-worthy. They have a cute little lake surrounded by trees! Plus they have a tripod for guests to use, so they are able to take photos! Thanks to this, Hector and I have a real photo together (finally). Also, the Chardonnay, Napa Valley 2013, was really good!
Stag’s Leap:
Stags leap has a special place in our heart. We are great fans of their wine Artemis and usually drink it on special occasions. The wine tasting was by far also the best one from Day 1.
Maybe had one too many glasses of wino 😉
I remember the pistachios were really good and the Magnum bottle designs were so cool! Everything else is a blur.
After wine tasting, we headed to Bouchon Bistro in Yountville for dinner. The steak frites are a must! After dinner, we made our way back to Calistoga ranch and finished my birthday with a massage. I opted for their seasonal treatment, which included a honey and milk bath with a glass of wine. Overall an amazing day, feeling blessed for another year and for my man who is so so good to me.
Don’t like to brag, but we have to give it to Hector, this is an amazing photo! Love hummingbirds.
Day 1: I wore a Zara Coat and T Shirt, 7 for all Mankind Jeans, Sandro Booties, Raybans and Chloe Faye Handbag
The next couple of days, we visited private vineyards and enjoyed the resort’s property. We got way too many massages, (in our defense, our hotel package came with $100 massage credits daily) and rode bikes til sunset. Yes, sometimes I can be a hopeless romantic.
Day 2: I wore Few Moda Camel Coat, Sandro Sweater, LXE Leather Leggings, Zara Coat, Celine Sunglasses and Mosicuss Hanbag
On Tuesday, we woke up to an unexpected thunderstorm. Packed our bags and made our way back home. I can’t wait to go back!
Have you ever been to Napa? What places do you recommend?
As always, thanks for stopping by! xx p.

Such a lovely trip!! I grew up in Sonoma (the next valley over) and went to school in Napa so I kind of claim them both 😉 I will email you some of my recommendations for both. Next time you definitely have to make your way over to Sonoma. It is such a darling small town with all the luxuries of Napa and just as many wineries but it is super quaint and just amazing. You’d love it!

Good day! If you want to know how easy it is to become a traveler with a cool view, then I can advise you on the Exotic Car Rentals Miami website, where you can rent a cool car. I have already used this service several times and I recommend that you try it too for your interest. Anyway, good luck with that.
