This amazing journey has taken me to many places and incredible destinations, but I have to admit, I have a soft spot for New York.
There is always something exciting going on, so many new things to see and do, and don’t even get me started on the food. Apart from the typical touristy things you have to do like the 9/11 Memorial, the museums, Times Square etc., here are my top choices and recommendations that I have accumulated after many amazing visits to the Big Apple!
Hotels
First things first! For me, the hotel I stay makes all the difference when I am traveling whether it be for business or pleasure. I recently stayed at the 1 Hotel in Central Park during Fashion Week and I cannot emphasize how amazing this place is. First of all, the location is perfect and beautiful.
It’s in a great area, right in front of Central Park and near public transportation. You can’t go wrong. The hotel has an incredible restaurant and bar. If you were walking by, you wouldn’t know it was a hotel because it looks like a fun, modern bar and is always packed with people.
The hotel is eco-friendly and green; even the hotel keys are made out of recycled material. During Fashion Week, I hardly had time to eat so I loved that in the lobby they had bananas, apples, nuts and other fruits to quickly grab on my way out! Seriously loved this place!
Restaurants
Catch
Located in the fun Meatpacking District, this place is known for celebrity sightings and its seafood. Enjoy a delicious meal and then head on to its fun rooftop!
ABC Kitcken
One of Jean-George’s incredible restaurants. You can’t go wrong. The food and the cocktails are delicious! This one is a must.
Zuma
If you love sushi, this is where you need to go. It’s on the pricier side, but it is worth it! You will have sashimi and sushi that you didn’t even know existed. I always have to come here when I am in New York.
Insta-Worthy Coffee Shops
Cha Cha Matcha
If you follow me on social media, you know I love matcha tea. I love coming here to get my daily dose of matcha plus it is super cute!
Chailait
Ok, there might be several matcha coffee shops that I like in the city. This café serves a variety of signature matcha green tea beverages, the cutest coffees and lattes and also has yummy breakfast and lunch options. Trust me, you’ll want to Instagram your meal and coffee at this place.
Cafe Gitane
This café is a little piece of Moroccan bliss. It’s the perfect place to grab a coffee and sit down to read a good book. Plus the food is delicious!
Rooftops
Le Bain at the Standard
This is a must! This rooftop has a very chic and hip vibe and you have the most incredible view. Get here early and make sure to get the most breathtaking view of a New York sunset! Also, they have a crepe station. What more could you want?
Hotel Chantelle
Come at night and this rooftop is a guaranteed hot-spot any given night then stop by the next day for an amazing brunch! It’s the cutest rooftop and always busy with a fun vibe. The food at brunch is superb!
Refinery Rooftop
This chic rooftop bar and lounge has incredible views of the Manhattan skyline and the Empire State Building. They have live DJ’s and performances during the week and a great ambiance.

A travel guide offers useful information to explore new destinations, highlighting the best attractions, local culture, and practical tips for travelers. From recommendations on where to stay, eat, and what to do, a travel guide helps ensure a fulfilling experience. It’s possible that having detailed insights can lead to a smoother, more enjoyable trip, especially for those unfamiliar with the area.
