Fashion month is over which means it’s time for a recap. NYFW is always my busiest month when it comes to projects with different brands which means my schedule for shows and presentations is always a little more limited. Nonetheless, I always make time to go to shows that I have a close relationship with. Fashion week is always a great time to reconnect with brands and the designers and show support by attending the show and wearing their clothes. Starting off with NYFW, I am sharing a quick recap of my favorite looks and trends from the runways along with my own looks
Hot pink is here to stay! There were a couple of hot pink looks down the runway which I’m still obsessing over. I love how detailed all of the pieces are, most of them had beautiful lace in them.
Many dresses and ensembles in bright rainbow colors walked down the runway. One of the looks that stood out to me the most was a brown leather trench coat with its matching skirt and it’s funny because my look for that show was similar. Also, this was the very first time Staud introduced leather to one of it’s collections.
Bravo Tibi. I just loved the freshness to this collection. There were so many standout pieces down the runway that I loved, such as metallic pants, tie-dye pants and cargo shorts. Im obsessing over those cargo shorts, they are a must! Also, I think my look for this show was one of my favorites of the week!
This collection is stunning and super elegant! So many beautiful long dresses floated down the runway. I loved the fresh color choices as well as the fresh fabrics in all the looks, perfect for spring.
This show is always so much fun, the energy is just unbelievable as well as the looks! This is the second collection between Tommy and the actress Zendaya. It is 70’s and 80’s inspired, so of course there were many tailored suits, flared pants and fun prints such as plaid and snake prints down the runway. The collection overall was the epitome of “power-dressing.”
Im always excited for Carolina Herrera show. This show is one of the few shows I can really dress up for and not feel weird about it. I wore a bright orange dress train for this show ( which you probably saw on my Instagram). I fell in love with so many of the gowns and skirts from this collection. Every look was so vibrant whether it was because of the colorful prints or the silky fabrics.
I just loved the color palette for this collection, the majority of the looks were pastel colors. There was a softness to this collection because most of the pieces had dainty details such as lace or delicate pleats.
This collection’s got me wishing it were spring already! Zimmermann is one of the shows I’m always super excited to see. The signature Zimmermann lace and puff sleeves made an appearance on the runway of course, this time with edgier colorful prints. I can’t wait to have some of these pieces in my closet!
I love a good monochromatic look and this collection happens to have so many of them! The colors transitioned so well on the runway starting with ivory and closing up with emerald green. Besides most looks being monochromatic, a lot of tailoring, drapery and layering was going on as well.
Michael Kors recreated women’s work wear from back in the day with a more modern take. The palette for this collection was red, white and blue although I did see a bit of everything on the runway. I saw so many blazer in different colors, prints and silhouettes as well as ruffles being incorporated in many of the looks.Michael Kors also had men’s wear in this collection keeping the same color palette and aesthetic.
Couldn’t have survived Fashion Week without Maserati and our amazing driver! He was so sweet and talked to us about his days as a cop during 9/11.
And of course, a special shout out to the Sixty SoHo for hosting me during NYFW. I have stayed there for the past couple of seasons and it has truly become my home in New York. I even have a favorite bell man who remembers me and my team every time we go and literally brightens our days. I will never forget his priceless reaction when I stepped out of the elevator in my Carolina Herrera look! Also, if you are looking for a good lunch spot in New York, check out Bistrot Leo at the hotel. It is seriously so so good!!
And of course, a big highlight from this season, was the Harper’s Bazaar Icons Party! I was so happy that Hector and Enzo were able to join me in New York for a couple of days and that H was able to come with me to this event. I wore the most gorgeous and dreamy gown from the one and only Oscar de la Renta. And Hector didn’t look too bad himself 😉 It was definitely a night to remember!
