NYFW Spring/Summer ’16 with TRESemmé

New York fashion week is always a special time for me. My heartbeat starts racing the moment I land. This season, partnering up with TRESemmé made it extra special. We teamed up to showcase the latest hairstyle trends inspired by the runway and streets and lucky for me, I was able to get my hair done every day!

Together we explored new hairstyles, even went backstage to see how the TRESemmé team worked their magic on prepping the models, and filmed for TRESemmé’s Style Setters in addition to E! I even learned how to do some of the hairdo’s myself, which I can’t wait to show you, but more on that later (psst. stay tuned next week!)

La semana de moda en Nueva York siempre es muy divertida, ocupada, pero divertida. Me entra una emoción inexplicable al momento de aterrizar. Esta temporada, tuve la oportunidad de trabajar con el equipo de TRESemmé. TRESemmé ha sido patrocinador de la semana de moda de New york por quince años. Es una marca que aparte de tener excelentes productos, son innovadores en su industria. Se podrá decir que ellos son los que ponen los peinados de moda cada temporada. Esta ves, tuve el gran lujo de que me peinaran todo los días. Aprendí como hacer los peinados, tener acceso a backstage donde TRESemmé peinaba a las modelos y grabar un día entero para un video que pronto estará en la pagina de TRESemmé. Pronto les ensenare un tutorial de cómo hacer uno de los peinados que me hicieron esta semana, no se les olvide visitar el blog la siguiente semana.

As most of you know, my go to look are my beach waves, it’s practical and easy but during fashion week, it’s always nice to spice things up a bit. My first show of the season was BCBG, therefore I opted for a full look by BCBG and my Aquazurra Woodstock booties. Lucky for me the first day was rainy and not so hot, so my outfit ended up pairing up with the weather perfectly.

Como muchos lo saben, mi peinado típico es “beach waves” es practico y fácil para la vida diaria pero durante esa semana de moda siempre es bueno darle un toque especial. Mi primer show de la temporada fue BCBG, entonces para el primer día decidí ponerme un outfit totalmente de BCBG con mis botas de Aquazurra (gracias, Gran Via!). Gracias a Dios el primer día de NYFW estuvo lloviendo entonces estuvo perfecto mi outfit. 

When I arrived at the TRESemmé salon at Moynihan Station, my stylist Yojanse and I agreed to put my hair up. I was in the mood for braids, so he ended up making the smallest French braids outlining my hairline and then adding two fishtail braids in the back. He pinned them up, in a way that looked like a piece of art. I had never seen this hair do before, not even on Pinterest, so I was very happy with the results.

Cuando llegue a mi cita de TRESemmé en Monyihan Station, junto con mi estilista, Yojanse , decidimos recogerme el pelo. Decidió ponerme dos trenzas francesas chiquitas a la orilla de mi pelo y luego dos trenzas atrás. Me encanto que nunca había visto este peinado, ni en Pinterest.

After my first TRESemmé hair appointment, I went to a couple more shows and presentations. Another highlight of my day was Marissa Webb’s newest collection. I could wear everything I saw on the runway. Marissa’s collection was inspired by a 1950s black and white photo of her grandparents, combining structural military looks with delicate lace dresses. TRESemmé stylist Jeanie Syfu created two looks for the collection – one of a side-swept bun and one that was a side-swept down do.

Overall it was a great first day, I can’t wait to share with you all my New York Fashion week stories and TRESemmé hair-dos. Make sure to check back early next week for a DIY. Stay tuned!

Después de mi cita de pelo con TRESemmé, fui a varios shows y presentaciones. Me encanto el show de Marissa Webb, me pudiera poner todo lo que vi en el desfile. La colección de Marissa fue inspirada por las fotos de sus abuelos de blanco y negro de los 50s, combinando lo detalles militares y el encaje femenino. El estilista Jeanie Syfu de TRESemmé creo dos looks para la colección – un chongo recogido de lado y el mismo de lado pero con el pelo suelto.
