It was a childhood dream come true. As many of you might remember, Hector, Enzo and I went on our first Disney Cruise a couple of weeks ago. The 10 year-old in me couldn’t contain the excitement when Disney reached out to work with me and invite my family on a cruise. Of course, Hector was even more thrilled than anyone because there would be a Star Wars themed portion of the ship and if you don’t know, Hector is the biggest Star Wars fan of all time. He has of course, indoctrinated our son in the ways of “the force” and Enzo hasn’t let go of his light saber since we got back.
It was our first Disney Cruise so we didn’t really know what to expect. Hector and I have been on several cruises but they have all been smaller and more geared towards adults. It was the perfect time to go since it was right before Fashion Month when I am usually gone for weeks so it was great to have that special family time before my travels.
We arrived one day before the cruise to stay at the Animal Kingdom Resort which I really recommend. The next day we traveled to Port Canaveral where we would board the ship. I loved that the first day was like an open-house. You can take a tour of the nursery, the kids clubs and get to see everything on the ship. After the open-house many of these places are closed for kids-only. The ship is very geared towards families but especially kids. I was jealous of seeing all these kids just living their best Disney lives. I would have absolutely loved to have been able to experience this as a kid.
You feel like you are in a dream on this ship. The details, decoration, characters, staff all come together to make every corner of this ship feel magical. I loved the feel of the old-timey 20’s Disney mixed with more contemporary elements.

Everything is super safe. I am definitely very cautious and picky when it comes to leaving Enzo alone with other people but he loved staying at the nursery and the people there were very professional and made us feel very comfortable. They would even report back and tell us everything he ate.
There are also adult-only sections on the ship. They have adult-only restaurants, bars and pools so you can definitely leave the kids to have fun on the ship in their areas and get some alone adult time. Their fitness center is also super cool. It is actually quite large and I am very proud of myself that I actually used it while on vacation.

The entertainment on the ship is beyond! Every night they have different Broadway shows which are entertaining and fun for the whole family. Enzo has never even been able to sit through a whole movie and he was just mesmerized and watched the whole Aladdin play. We were so impressed!

The food and service was of course, on point. Disney does everything bigger and better. We loved that every night you are scheduled to have dinner in different restaurants but we would always have the same server so we really got to know each other and he would already know our preferences. He was the best and it was such a nice part of our experience.

We had 3 days at sea which we loved because we were able to really enjoy and explore the ship. There is so much to see and do and we all had the best time on board. One of the days at sea was Star Wars themed! Hands down the best day. Adults and kids everywhere were in Star Wars costume. Hector wished he could have brought his storm trooper costume but it is impossible to travel with it. I definitely didn’t come prepared because Enzo was one of the few kids not in costume! Next time we will go all out!

The ports on this cruise were Tortola in the British Islands, St. Thomas in the U.S Virgin Islands where there was a sea safari, snorkeling and beach tour and lastly, Castaway Cay which is Disney’s private Island! You can snorkel, bike, inner-tube and explore. It is really an amazing experience.

People asked me on Instagram if it got crazy with so many people. There are definitely a lot of people on board but the ship is so massive and spacious that we never really felt like we were crowded. It honestly didn’t even faze me. It was such a fun and special experience. I highly recommend a Disney Cruise for families! We are definitely looking forward to our next one.
Loving all these pictures and looks like an amazing time.
