A couple weeks ago, I showed you my three hair styles from Miami Swim Week made by TRESemmé (see post here), but what I didn’t say, was that I also had the chance to do some decorating!
If you follow me on snapchat, you might already know, that I was able to dip my toes into the interior designer world by helping TRESemmé decorate their Miami Swim Week cabana! As the official hair care sponsor, they had a cabana next to the main stage where a lot of shows were happening during the week!
Let me start off by saying that decorating is much more difficult than it looks. You really need to have an eye for detail. It has always been an area of interest for me, but at the same time I am SO indecisive when it comes to pulling the trigger on furniture, so helping TRESemmé with their cabana was definitely a great first step!
First we brainstormed on colors, and since I really wanted the cabana to go with the colors of TRESemmé’s newest collection, Botanique, we agreed on lots of wood, white and green. Then, since it was in Miami, and a essentially a cabana, we wanted to keep the beach vibes so we agreed on adding tons of white towels and coconuts. Last but not least, we needed to decide on the accent décor pieces, and at that point, it was a no brainer, we added rose gold accents, because I am obsessed with anything and everything that’s rose gold!
Overall it was a very fun experience and I know it will come in handy as I am now using my newfound skills to decorate my new home that we just moved in to. Though decorating a full house is definitely a lot more work! Not going to lie, I’m still relying heavily on Pinterest. If you have any suggestions or decoration tips, they would be highly appreciated! Tengo que admitir que la decoración es mucho más difícil de lo que parece. Realmente necesitas tener un ojo para el detalle. Siempre ha sido un área de interés para mí, pero al mismo tiempo soy muy indecisa a la hora de decidir. Por lo tanto, ayudar a TRESemmé con su cabaña fue una muy buena experiencia para aprender.
Primero, tuvimos que decidir que esquema de colores queríamos usar. Quería la cabaña reflejara los nuevos productos de TRESemmé Botanique, entonces decidimos usar muchos tonos de madera, blanco y verde. Estando en Miami, era esencial mantener un ambiente playero, así que agregamos un montón de toallas blancas y cocos. Por último, pero no menos importante, teníamos que decidir sobre cuales piezas de decoración usar para que resaltaran y le diera un toque especial a la cabaña. Para mi, esto fue lo mas fácil. Añadí acentos de cobre, porque al momento estoy obsesionado con cualquier cosa y de cobre!
En general, fue una experiencia muy divertida y sé que será muy útil ya que ahora estoy utilizando mis nuevas habilidades para decorar mi nueva casa. Aunque la decoración de una casa definitivamente es mucho más trabajo! No voy a mentir, todavía dependo bastante de Pinterest.
