What to do in Oahu

IMG_6064

Aloha! Today, I am teleporting you into the magical world of Hawaii. Be aware: the urge and sensation of booking a direct flight, after seeing these photos will be absolutely normal!  Thanks to Wanderlust & Co. & The Modern Honolulu, I was able to enjoy a short but sweet trip a couple weeks ago.

First of all, thanks to all of you who sent your recommendations, Hector and I went through each and everyone of them to see what we wanted to eat and do! We found some hidden treasures as well. See our recommendations below:

Friday night:

The day we arrived, we decided to stay at the hotel, watch the fireworks that are seen from Waikiki beach every Friday at 7:30 pm. We then had dinner at Morimoto Waikiki . The TORO tartare there is a must!

Saturday:

If you follow me on socia media, you know how much I love my Farmer Markets in San Diego, so Hector and I saw it fit to visit the local KCC (Kapi’olani Community College) Farmers Market in Honolulu. Best idea ever! We had the best pineapple juice I have ever had in my life and the best part is that they were served in mini pineapples. They were so good, we had to get refills. We also ate fresh papaya and other goodies while we were there.

After the farmers market we decided to go somewhere and have some REAL breakfast, since we had only eaten fruits and by that point we were pretty hungry. We decided to go with one of your recommendations and eat at Goofy’s.

We then walked to the hotel, which was about three blocks away and enjoyed some much deserved pool time and mojitos.

After a couple hours in the sun, we went back to the hotel room, changed into something a bit more formal and headed to Alan Wong’s restaurant. Whatever you do, you need to try the Coconut dessert! TDF!

Sunday:

Hector and I are very much on the adventurous side. We alway dream of taking a year off and just exploring the world together. For now, we choose to travel every chance we get since we both have full time jobs and one too many responsibilities. My point being, we love being outdoors and enjoying of Mother nature. On Easter Sunday, we found it appropriate to rent a jeep and drive to the North Shore making a couple pitstops.  First stop was Banan. What’s better than an acai bowl? An Acai bowl served in a Hawaiian papaya! It’s definitely a must on your next stay! From there we made it to Lanikai beach. Stayed there for a couple hours, (got a parking ticket), and then made it to Giovanni’s Shrimp Food truck.  So delish! From there we ended our day with some shaved iced as we watched the sunset at Sunset Beach.

Monday:

Sadly enough, Monday was our last day, we quickly had some breakfast, enjoyed a last minute massage and said our goodbyes!

All in all, it was a wonderful vacation and I am so grateful with Wanderlust & Co. for sponsoring it! Make sure to check out the photos below, where I mention all my outfit and jewelry details! xx, p.

This is a list of 3 my favorite places in Oahu:

    1. Walk the Waikiki Beach Walk – This is the perfect place to go for a morning or evening stroll. You can enjoy sunset on one end of the beach and sunrise on the other end.

    2. Visit Diamond Head State Monument – This monument is an extinct volcanic cone that rises from the sea and provides stunning views of Honolulu and Waikiki Beach from its summit.

    3. Take a hike at Makapu’u Point Lighthouse Trail – This trail gives you amazing views of Koko Head, Waimanalo Bay, and Makapu’u Point Lighthouse with its historic Fresnel lens lit up at night.
