Kimonos are beautiful and definitely a summer statement, not to mention a Coachella must. But why do these beauties have to be kept in shadows all throughout the winter season? They shouldn’t, which leads me to today’s post. How to wear a kimono during this winter season:
First, I recommend a velvet detailed kimono, to give it that warm winter vibe. This Windsor Gold Autumn Dream is ideal because it’s long, and has a velvet paisley print which changes colors in the sun. Depending on the pattern of the kimono, you can decided to pair it up with which winter hues, but since this kimono, as most kimonos have a lot going on print wise, I decided to pair it up with all black. By wearing a all black, the kimono is able to stand out and be the center of attention, which in most case, you want it to be. Since I live in California, and my winter is not as cold as a summer day in the east coast, I was able to wear a loose t shirt and ripped jeans, but don’t be afraid to pair up a kimono with a black turtle neck and leather leggings. Add the final touch by adding winter accessories. In my case, I wore a fur infinity scarf, complimenting the velvet on the kimono. A red fur scarf would have looked beautiful as well. If you opt for the turtle neck, then skip the scarf and wear a beanie or fedora instead. Last but not least, pair it up with your favorite boots of the moment, because 9/10, it will look perfect. I love wearing kimonos in the winter, because they are always so stylish and transmit great vibes.
