My Paris Fashion Week Recap

Bonjour! Fashion Month has officially come to an end and what a month it was! New York, Milan and Paris. Overall, I feel like this was a great year for me. I had a lot of “firsts” including walking in a show and getting invited to many shows for the firs time like Gucci and Prada, and being able to see the late great Karl Lagerfeld’s last collection. It was a memorable one. So, last but definitely not least, here is Paris!

JACQUEMUS

Everyone on Instagram was obsessing over the Jacquemus tiny invitations and tiny hand bags and let me tell you, so am I! Tiny handbags and oversized earrings were seen a lot on the runway! They make a great accent for any outfit. Most of the runway looks were monochrome, which I love! A lot of them were in vivid colors such as bougainvillea pink, shades of orange, green and blue. The collection was mostly pantsuits, oversized button-downs, skirt and sweater combinations and a lot of work-wear inspired outfits with large utility pockets. Jacquemus really outdid themselves with their accessories as well.

DIOR

I loved the cohesiveness and elegance of this collection! There was definitely a vintage feel to this collection. All women wore bucket hats and leather belts with their looks.  A lot of tailored pieces, coats and pantsuits looks inspired by the 1950’s. Pleated skirts, dresses and plaid were also a huge part of this collection. Also, how dreamy was my look for this show? I loved these Dior pieces I got to wear.

ROCHAS

This collection was just so good! You guys know I’m a sucker for trench coats, and this collection had so many of them! The color scheme for this show was black and neutral colors with a pop of Prussian blue. I just loved the modern couture take throughout the whole collection.

Y PROJECT

This show was full of surprises! A lot of crunching going on especially in boots and skirts. I loved the neutral and desaturated hues, perfect for fall! Im really into oversized coats and shirts right now and I did see a lot of both on the runway. Oversized button-downs and blouses were slightly tucked into draped skirts and pants giving it more personality. I’ll definitely be taking note of that!

REDEMPTION

This show was unlike others! Seriously, it was so good! Loved the edgy vibe. Puffy, bold shoulder sleeves always make a comeback in one way or another, in this case it was in short metallic dresses. Metallics are really in right now as well. I can easily say that they dominated the show, in a phenomenal way of course!

LOEWE

I love a good statement piece, especially if it’s a hat! This show was so interesting because it was a combination of playfulness and sophistication. I saw dresses in lace, satin and sheer fabrics as well as some more playful pieces such as feather hats, feather lapels on coats, knit sweaters covered in pearls and a rainbow plaid coat! I loved this collection because every look had at least one element that was an attention grabber!

ALESSANDRA RICH

Bringing vintage back! A modern femininity collection that I’m still obsessing over! Light weight fabrics played a huge role in this collection. Beautiful gowns, dresses and separates in lace and silky fabrics and lets not forget the broad and puffy shoulders in dresses and jackets!

ALTUZARRA

Layers! You guys know how much I love layers especially during fall and winter. The opening piece grabbed my attention instantly! The layering in this collection is to die for! There was a playful vibe going on in this collection, a lot of layering, mix and matching of prints, exciting fabrics and bold designs. I just loved how every look was so different from one another. I am still obsessing over this whole collection!

TOMMY HILFIGER

Tommy X Zendaya Collaboration: a lux 70’s inspired collection. Such a cool show and collection! Loved the energy, the women were transmitting such good vibes in their 70’s inspired looks. The show featured black women from different ages, shapes and sizes. A lot of high waist tailored pants, pantsuits and bodysuits in vibrant and fun prints. Definitely a show to remember in Fashion month history.

AKRIS

Outerwear and suits were the main focus of this collection. I saw coats and suits in velvet, leather and even faux fur. Monochrome looks were also a big part of the show. Even if outerwear was the main focus of the show, I did see some beautiful lace dresses and even some embroidery!

CHANEL

I am sure you guys already know about Karl Lagerfeld’s recent passing, this was his final collection for Chanel and it was just breathtaking. Chanel transported us to winter wonderland, literally. Cara Delevingne opened the show in a beautiful black and white plaid suit in Chanel’s signature tweed. The show then transitioned into head to toe monochrome looks and closing the show with all-white looks. Penelope Cruz made her runway debut in a beautiful rounded white feather skirt with a ruffled white sweater. Of course there was a standing ovation for Karl’s last collection and even the women got teary on the runway.

Balmain Flagship Opening

I attended the opening of the brand’s flagship store on Saint Honore. It was an intimate event and I was happy to support and be able to be there for such an exciting moment!

LOUIS VUITTON

I loved my “business-chic” look for this show, I was wearing an asymmetrical leather skirt with a long tailored blazer. On the other hand, Louis Vuitton definitely took it to a whole other level with it’s edgy looks! Definitely digging the clashing textures, prints, punkish metal embellishments and oversized ruffles. I was mostly excited to see the layering in different prints and fabrics. Major layering inspo alert!
